Plan the season before the session, so your athlete peaks when the competition is
From the FASTER syllabus: this article is taught in full in the Level 4 Strength & Conditioning course →

In short: A strong individual session and a season shaped so the athlete peaks on the right day are two different skills. Level 4 Strength & Conditioning covers lifting, speed, agility and team management built into a full competition calendar, and certifying unlocks the Athlete HQ and season planner in PT Manager.
The short version
Ask a coach how the session went and most can tell you in detail. Ask the same coach where that session sits inside the athlete's season, six weeks out from the competition that matters, and the answer gets vaguer fast. A great single session isn't the same thing as a season shaped so the athlete peaks on the day it counts, and building that shape properly is what Level 4 Strength & Conditioning teaches.
Key Takeaways
- A strong individual session and a well-timed peak are two different skills.
- Level 4 S&C covers warm-ups, lifting, speed and agility and team management, built into a season rather than delivered as one-off blocks.
- Certifying unlocks the Athlete HQ and season planner in PT Manager, so the whole competition calendar stays visible while you build this week's session.
The gap between a good session and a good season
Plenty of trainers can build one excellent session on request. Fewer can look at a competition calendar and say with confidence which week should be heaviest, which week should back off, and why. That second skill is what turns a run of good sessions into an athlete who's ready on the day, rather than three weeks early or a week short.
What Level 4 covers
The course is warm-ups and cool-downs, lifting, speed and agility, and managing a group, taught at the level a Level 3 personal trainer builds on. It's £700 paid in full, or £100 deposit and 8 monthly payments of £87, plan total £796, delivered through FOCUS Awards. It needs a Level 3 personal training qualification first, and it's marked by a real person who wants you to pass.
The tool people miss
The industry tends to sell S&C as a library of clever exercises: sport-specific this, athletic that. The exercises matter less than the shape they sit inside. A trainer who can build the perfect session and then edit it against the calendar, backing off before a competition instead of after noticing the athlete is flat, is doing the actual job. That's rule the tool applied to a whole season instead of a single lift.
What to do next
Certifying on Level 4 S&C unlocks the Athlete HQ and the season planner inside PT Manager, so a whole competition calendar sits alongside this week's session rather than in a separate notebook. The movement analysis suite opens with it too, so a lift can be checked frame by frame on your phone the day after you pass, not just talked about in theory.
